When you strike up e-mail contact, don’t leave it there, and once the initial contact is made, try and turn it into a phone number.
You should always be yourself, and not try and hoodwink others, not even slightly. This relates to the point made above, and you should be there to meet someone you can have meaningful relationships, so if you post an unrealistic image of yourself this isn’t doing anyone any favours.
